Introduction

In recent years, technology has been developed to reach human satisfaction almost at complex details with friendly interface, catching design and optimum productivity. Some technology examples such as the availability of communication network, disease and virus controlling, process and production cost optimizing, criminal and terrorism counteraction, and many other, figure out the expectation to high graded life. Reaching those, numerous researches are done using new methods and approaches and still developing. It’s a challenge for academicians and scientists to innovate existing theories to provide more advanced technologies through their researches. Also, to present quantitative analysis and solution for certain negative effects may be resulted by technology in future will be another challenge this time.

ILM MIPA INDONESIA, whose members are science and technology faculty students from 37 universities in Indonesia, presents a scientific forum entitled ISST 2009 which covers all research related to newest technology issues and not limited to their applications even in social spheres. The objective of the seminar is to provide research presentation and exhibition on describing the role of newest sciences and technology in improving the quality of life. Discussion concerning some problem caused by modern technology is also important and included in the seminar. Beside the presentation and exhibition forum, ISST 2009 provides opportunity of establishing research networking among academicians. Additionally, society elements which directly handle society affairs such as government, public enterprises are also greatly welcome to publish their anlaysis on the dynamic of technology in social life.
